The Queensland suburb of Charleville is the state’s most affordable place to live, according to a new study by PRDnationwide. According to the study, Charleville was the least expensive suburb with a median price of $140,000, while Tara and Gayndah finished second and third respectively with house prices below $155,000. “Potential gems exist for the keen investor who has been priced out of metropolitan and coastal areas if they are willing to invest further west,” PRDnationwide Queensland research manager Aaron Maskrey said. The report found that, due to the nature of demand, most of the top 10 most affordable suburbs in Queensland were situated in rural Queensland. “In terms of looking for an affordable investment, that has proven solid returns on capital gain, then the suburbs of Tara, Mount Morgan and Oakey should appeal,” Mr Maskrey said.
